About
Johnny Wae – Connecticut Hip Hop
What more can I say? I LOVE music. Always have and always will. Hip Hop has always been apart of me. I don’t limit myself though. I enjoy many different styles of music. I began writing rhymes at a pretty low point in my life…possibly even the lowest. Years later, I find myself more focused with a more positive attitude. I believe that hip hop inspired me to open my mind and even use my imagination again. I’ve been in this with my homie Ekaj The Invincible since the beginning. If it wasn’t for that dude, rhymes would be on paper or in my head still. We dropped ‘Sucka-Free Verses’ in 2009 which was the first record we ever pressed. It was also the first record I went solo with as an MC. Most of the stuff I recorded before 2007 was with Chemical Profit. Ekaj, Chem Pro and I originally made up the group Villains Destroy Cities.
Right now I am working on a new record with producer Goodkind. He’s my boy from back in high school and he’s producing the album entirely. Ekaj will be handling the engineering and throwin’ some cuts in as well. We are really taking this in a slightly different direction which I believe is a great thing. You’ll see what I mean. But please don’t worry. This will not be an indie rock album. Although the title of the record is ‘Fairytales Don’t Exist’. Look out for it to drop later this year.
I am also always open to meeting new artists and possibly even collaborating. I try to co-lab as much as possible. I love hearing new voices on tracks and new beats. Just talk to me.
If you want to know more…check out some of the music.
